Barley Villa is an arable smallholding with Shetland ponies in the paddock. Catering for adults and young people over the age of fourteen, it's a comfortable and very friendly non-smoking environment with two double rooms and one twin room. A very popular stopping off point for visitors to Skomer Island, Barley Villa is also an ideal base for exploring this part of the West Coast of Pembrokeshire.
"What we offer at Barley Villa is a real Pembrokeshire rural experience. And that starts with a traditional Pembrokeshire welcome of tea and home made cake. We're surrounded by beautiful countryside, fields and woodland and we're right on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast national park, with its gorgeous sandy beaches and miles of coastal paths. All this natural beauty right on our doorstep, we can hardly believe it ourselves sometimes!
Just switch off and relax I say - and that's not a reference to the electricity! Although I am very energy conscious and do try to do as much as I can from an environmental point of view. Using low energy bulbs, composting, using water butts, and recycling all we can.

Many of our guests stay with us on their way to and from Skomer Island which is just lovely any time, but especially in the spring when it's carpeted with bluebells and campions. And in the early summer, when the puffins and lots of other amazing birds can be seen.
One thing I know people welcome is the unhurried pace of Pembrokeshire. If it's peace you're looking for, you'll certainly find it here. But there's plenty of activity too if that's what you want.
However you decide to enjoy yourself, we'll make sure you can enjoy a traditional hearty Welsh breakfast. And then it's up to you: cycling; horse riding; boating; fishing; visiting castles, country houses and gardens or just relaxing on our fantastic beaches.
You could go for a stroll around the Deer Park at St Martin's Haven from where you can see the seals in September basking on the beaches below. Take a look at the lovely little church at St Brides, or visit the newly restored Victorian pump house nearby. We can book activities in advance and organise bicycle hire if required. But of course, you're welcome to bring your own bikes, boat or even a horse - which can stay in the paddock!"
