With spectacular views to the Gower and Caldey Island, Amroth cottages are up a lane that leads to the local unspoiled sandy beach at Amroth. The nine acres of grounds around the cottages are very child safe and there are plenty of grassy areas for play. There are three cottages (sleeping up to six) all rated 5 star and very well equipped, which have been very tastefully converted from the old stables, granary and other farm buildings.
"Children just love it here. They can be down to the beach in four minutes and they really enjoy meeting our animals. We've got ponies, sheep, goats, chickens, cats and a Golden Retriever. It's a wonderful area for butterflies and birds too and I try to get children more involved, telling about the wildlife and what to look for. Last year we had two porpoises in the bay which was very exciting.
We try to do as much as we can for the environment with thick insulation, low energy light bulbs and composting. We also encourage guests to recycle cans paper and bottles.
We get lots of families naturally, and with Amroth being right at the start of the Pembrokeshire coast path, it's a favourite for walkers. Right next to the cottages is the wooded valley of Colby house and its wonderful gardens with lots of good walking for dogs, and their owners. But if you simply want to relax, fly a kite or eat an ice cream, you can do that.

That's what's so nice about Pembrokeshire, it lets you be yourself. You can have a life, if you know what I mean. We used to have a coffee shop in Taunton before we moved here. We saw the farm advertised and just fell in love with it. The fantastic sea view is just the icing on the cake! You can see Lundy and even the north Devon coast on a clear day. One thing you'll certainly notice is the lack of light pollution. At night the stars are so clear and seeing the moon reflected on the sea at night is simply stunning.
The cottages are open all year and during the winter months can be booked for short breaks or weekends. Where would I recommend people to see? There's just so much! For beaches (beside Amroth), Barafundle is lovely or a favourite of ours is Presipe Bay, near Manorbier. Then there are places such as Carew Castle. If you've never been you really should. They have days when they dress kids in tabards and show them what life would be like living in the castle. Not as comfortable as Amroth Cottages, I'd say! And when guests are able to enjoy the new hot tub, it just won't compare at all!"
