Carew

Probably the most spectacular spot along the secret waterway is Carew Castle. The land was part of the dowry of Princess Nest, daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr. Her husband, Gerald of Windsor, built the original timber palisade castle after their marriage in 1100.

The WWII Air Control Tower at Carew Cheriton Airfield has been extensively restored and is now open to the public.
