It has a wealth of historic monuments, including the remains of a motte and bailey castle above the village and an ancient bridge.
Early 10th Century braided cross on the windowsill in Nevern Church
The church with its massive tower dates from the twelfth century. In the churchyard is a ‘bleeding yew’ which drips blood-red sap; legend has it that the tree will continue to bleed until the Welsh are once more in command of the nearby castle. A fine 11th century wheel-headed cross, four metres high and richly carved, also stands in the churchyard.
Trewern Arms (SN 087397): The local Home Guard unit had a supply post to the rear of the pub.
