NATO Quay
(SM 967046) This quay, at the entrance to the present marina, was built in about 1951 during the Cold War and extends some six metres beyond the 19th century railway quay.

It was constructed of steel pilings and rubble with a concrete surface and remains in good condition. In conjunction with the quay at Burton Ferry, the Neyland Quay was intended as a rapid unloading point for American reinforcements in the the event of war and an invasion of western Europe by the Russians. It was also intended to be a point of evacuation for members of the Royal Family. Rails connecting the former station with the quay can still be seen.
