Mine-watchers' Posts
The remains of two WW2 mine-watching posts can be found near Wear Point, one at The Bolster (SM 931046) and the other at Wear Point itself (SM 938043).

These posts were manned by members of the Royal Navy Auxiliary Service (RNXS) who plotted the position of parachute mines dropped into the Haven by German aircraft in order that they could be avoided and swept. A third post, Hazelbeach Post (SM 947047), was destroyed by enemy action; ironically it was hit by a mine.
