Ivy Towers

SN090 023 Nissen huts were built in the woods around the manor house during World War 2.

American troops were stationed here for a while; later they were occupied by Italian prosoners of war.  The prison camp was very much an open prison, with many prisoners going out to work on local farms during the day, returning to the camp in the evening.
