Hundleton

Nearby is Orielton House, once the mansion home of the local squire but now used as a Field Studies Council field centre. From Bentlass, half a mile away, a rowing boat ferry once carried people across the Pembroke River to Pennar. The present Hundleton Community comprises most of the northern half of the Castlemartin Peninsula, including the Texaco oil refinery.
West Pennar searchlight battery (SM933 030)
This was a single earth/sandbagged searchlight emplacement, with hut bases situated in the ditch of an Iron Age hill-fort. This site was bombed and machine-gunned during the Second World War.
Pwllcrochan searchlight battery (SM920 026)
In the field behind the village school was a WW2 searchlight emplacement with two Nissen huts and a generator base. Few remains are visible.
Wallaston (SM923 001)
This was the site of a WW2 High Frequency/ Direction Finding Station used to monitor and plot the position of lost aircraft and to help them find their way to the nearest airfield.
