Crug-yr-Hwch
This area was extensively used as a tank range during World War Two.

Postwar aerial photographs show a considerable volume of tank tracks covering an area from Llainbanal and Siberia in the north to Letty Farm in the south.
There was also a WW2 Royal Observer Corps post in this area, at SN173 333.
