Angle Windmill
SM 866019 The disused and truncated windmill overlooking Angle was converted into a defence post during the war by the insertion of a concrete floor and machine-gun loops.
Gun POst and BHQ, Angle Windmill
It formed part of the defences of the adjacent Battle Headquarters, a semi-underground building hidden in the hedge beyond and now covered by undergrowth. In the event of a ground attack on Angle airfield, this bunker would have been the defence centre. The windmill, which has recently been restored, is on private land but it is easily viewed from the minor road leading to the village.
