Albion Square
At the end of the First World War, a fund-raising event was held in Albion Square by the War Savings Association; it featured a mockup tank.
A white WWII ‘shelter’ direction sign can still be seen at the Maypole Corner, nailed to a tree which is now growing around it. The sign pointed to an air raid shelter in Albion Square.
