Tidal Mill
The date of origin of this corn mill of quite a rare type in Britain, is not known, but there was a mill in existence in 1476 described as the ‘French Mylles’.
The mill was re-built in the early 19th century and the present wheel re-made in the late 19th century (by George Scourfield of Carew Lane).
In relatively recent times, the mill was used for grinding both corn and bone. Closed in 1937, it is now leased to the National Park Authority.
