Tabernacle United Reformed Church

Tabernacle United Reformed Church was founded in 1817 and the original Congregational chapel building was erected a year later.

The present building was opened in 1859, in front of the first chapel. Tabernacle Lane (alongside the chapel) was known as Occupation Lane during the nineteenth century, perhaps because it was a route used by local people walking to work.
