Services in homesteads preceded the building of a chapel and formation of a church in 1845.
Gilead Chapel
A new chapel was opened in 1876 and the first (now referred to as Gilead Sunday School) has been used for meetings and activities. In 1995, two new windows in the Sunday School were dedicated.
