GREEN TRAVEL
- WAYS TO GET AROUND
While
many people come to Pembrokeshire by car, there
are alternative, more eco-friendly ways of getting
to and traveling around the county.
For
information about all kinds of ways of getting
around Pembrokeshire
visit the Greenways website. Greenways
is an initiative to encourage local residents and
visitors, of all abilities, to access the countryside
by sustainable modes of transport through walking,
cycling, bus and train travel.
There are rail links
from the main line at Swansea direct to Milford
Haven, via Haverfordwest and Pembroke
Dock, via Narberth and Tenby.
National Express
also runs express coach services to Tenby, Haverfordwest,
Fishguard, Milford Haven
and Pembroke amongst other places.
Locally, there
are bus services criss-crossing the county and
a unique fleet of small bus services
which
have been specially developed for visitors
and walkers. They offer a great way of getting
around
the county,
seven days a week during the summer, to access
walks, beaches, boat trips, local villages
and attractions.
For people doing the famous Pembrokeshire coastal
path they’re absolutely ideal, letting
you walk one way and then catch the bus back.
